Meetings with municipal officials

For every case in which Attorney Margolin has represented his non-profit corporate clients before local boards, there are many more in which meetings with local officials to educate them on the law and about his clients and the people they serve, have avoided the need for formal hearings. In advance of such meetings, Attorney Margolin will learn about his client's project in detail, research the law thoroughly, and often - depending on the situation - write a memorandum of law explaining his client's program and legal rights to the appropriate municipal official. Approaching local officials early in a project's development with a dual message of cooperation and insistence on respect for the rights of the organization and its clients can often prevent an adversarial process.
